Blossom Hill Signature Blend Red

I am a lover of red wine. Having lived in Italy for a year, I have come to adore a glass of red wine on practically any occasion possible (and am not ashamed to admit that I have started picking online recipes to compliment the wine instead of the other way round). In fact, as Italy taught me, it doesn’t even have to be an occasion as such, a glass shared over gossip and catch ups with friends is most enjoyable too. It may come as a surprise that I choose a Californian wine to review. Blossom Hill Signature Blend Red is delectably fruity and smooth. I discovered this when it was on offer in the supermarket, although it is an extremely affordable bottle of wine when not on offer. The product description is ‘smooth and mellow’ and that is precisely what you experience. The wine is light and fruity bursting with blackberry and cherry flavours. The moment you open the bottle, the fruity aromas escape and fill you with anticipation of what is to come as you pour. Recommended for pasta and tomato based rice dishes, this bottle accompanies equally delicious Italian cuisine. The bottle is a screw top, so whether it’s a bottle opened and one glass satisfies, you can prolong the treat by saving a taste for the following day. This may be rare though, as once opened with your best friend over dinner with chatting that can go on all evening, this wine is very drinkable and you may well find that it goes down a little too easily. The only word of warning is that this Blossom Hill Red will leave you wanting more. It will be hard to say ‘ok go on then, just the one glass.’
