To be honest, like most people, it’s not often that I come in to contact with alarming photographs of what our industry is doing to the environment. It’s not that I go out of my way to not see them. It’s more that I probably don’t think about it enough. Welcome to my blog.

So I guess that this is the section where I say a little bit about myself. Well, I should begin by saying I’m a doctor, and have been for about 20 years (I will let you figure out my age yourself). Needless to say, I am getting on a bit. But there are two things that give me pleasure about all else, and that is wine and books, hence the name of this site.

To explain the name of this blog I suggest you add the Greek postfix phile (derived from philia) to both words, as such:

Oenophile: A lover of wine, one who has studied the many aspects of wine.

Bibliophile: someone who loves (and usually collects) books.
